And I’m sure that all people that ever have been there are fascinated by the city.

To all that never been there I can tell you that it is a beautiful city, with a lot of old buildings and a mood there is hard to explain. Some streets make you fell like you are way back in the 1700s, and then you turn a corner, and you are back to present time.

I was there for 3 weeks and had rented a little flat in the outskirts of the city. Second last of the Metro, and in no way very tourist like. Locals that I wasn’t able to talk to surrounded me. But that were a part of the charm. But in no way like the Prague you would ever see in the guidebooks.

My best memory of that trip is the morning I went into the city at 5.30 a Sunday morning to take some pictures without too many people. Just wander the empty streets and enjoy the beautiful buildings and empty streets was like entering a fairytale.

I still dream about going back there, and the next time it will be in the wintertime. I’m sure that the city will be extra beautiful and dreamlike covered in snow.

The man on the picture sat on the Charles Bridge every time I went over it, and I had planned to take a picture of him before I left. If anybody knows if he still is alive please let me know. He is one of my best memories of the trip.

Sweden here I come

Finally I’ve packed, what seems like everything I own, and I’m ready for a week’s vacation in the lovely Sweden. I still can’t understand why I have to bring so much stuff for a single week, and I’m afraid that I’ll never learn to pack probably. I dread for the next “big adventure”, a 3-week trip to the northern part of Sweden and Norway. I’ll have to rent a trailer to have all my stuff with me on that trip.

I have to admit that I have a soft spot when it comes to Sweden. I spend almost every vacation in Sweden or Norway. But Sweden is the best place for me. Norway is the most beautiful place in the world, no arguing about that, but there is something about Sweden and the Swedish people I just can’t explain. I just feel right at home there. And the girls are so beautiful there.

Well I’d better get some sleep so I’m well rested tomorrow and hope for some good weather on the trip.

I’ll be sending home some pictures from the trip and you can see them here, the text will be in Danish. You can find my English blog from my trips here if you are interested or you can just see my photos in general here.

Hope you all have a great week and I’ll be writing about the trip here when I get back home. Hmm…Finland, until 2 years ago I didn’t know much about that country other that they had 1000 lakes, spend the time in a sauna drinking vodka and had Moomiens running around in the wild. But on my way to North cape we drove through Finland, and I got a little wiser. The lakes and saunas are there. It is a truly wonderful country and a visit worth if you get a chance. But the Moomien is a myth it turns out. Too bad!

Well, I’m not a man there turn a beautiful girl down, so I did visit her site, and gave her songs a listen. And I’m really glad that I did that, because she does make some really great music. Melodic tunes in a pop/latin style there are unique and so is her voice. I have been back often and I have to admit that her songs are on heavy rotation in my MP3 player.

Whenever I hear her music my mood changes for the better. She really makes me happy. Luckily I’ve just learned that her first single are about ready to be released (I’ll let you know when it happens) and hopefully she’ll soon get going on her first album. I know that she will be big, and I’m really looking forward to see her live when that time comes, but until then I’ll keep listening so the songs she have on her site so far.

Lauricia has been so kind to let me share her songs with you, so below you can download 3 of them, but I do think that you should visit Lauricias site on Myspace and tell her what you think about her music.

Now I Can Be (mp3)

Como Te Quiero (mp3)

The Meaning of This....(mp3)

Kate Havnevik

What a great weekend. It makes me believe that this world has become a better place. I can’t wait for the album to be released, but for the rest of this weekend it will be playing on my computer, that’s for sure.

You can also visit Kate on Myspace and hear some of the songs when the preview site is closed.

And to Kate, thank you so much for sharing the album and thank you for making the world a better place.

Bit of short notice

Kate are another artist I got to know on Myspace, and I have really enjoyed her music there. I listen to it 24/7 except when I'm at work (think I need another job. No, I know I need another job). And I'm always on the look for new music to add to my collection.
I admit I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to music. I need to have the CDs. There is nothing better than to put a new CD in the player, and then spend an hour or so enjoying the music. My MP3 player are only for travelling. I do enjoy that I can bring all of my music with me wherever I go (anybody know of a MP3 player bigger than 60 GB? Mine are getting too small. Please let me know!)
But now I have found a new and better use for MP3s. New music from unsigned bands. Sometimes you can find some really good artists from reading various blogs, and this place are a really good place to find truely great music too.
I have just recently found a great singer with a voice there can melt stones, and she have a really good band too, and best of all, she is from Denmark. I do recommend that you visit her site here on Myspace or her website and give her a listen. Lucky me this will happened on Saturday the 25th of February, when Depeche Mode play in Parken in Copenhagen. And as an added bonus I’ve just found out that The Bravery will open the show. That is great news, because I really do like their stuff too.

So now I’m sitting in my hotel room and waiting for tomorrow night. It is going to be a great evening. First of all I’ve had some time to relax and being pampered in (I’m looking forward to a great burger and a large beer, followed by a long soak in the tub.) And tomorrow night I will eat a great dinner with my friends, Bjarne and Malene, who will be attending the concert too. And after that, hopefully a great show.

I can’t wait.

Oh my god......it's December already

How did we get so far this fast? The hell in the life of a worker in a shop starts tomorrow, and right now I'm in charge of a medium sized supermarket, and I have to admit that I'm not acutely looking forward to the next month.
Stressed customers, crying kids that want everything, people spending to much money and are angry all the time.
Well on the positive side, I've got a new boss that I do like, and are looking forward to start working with. He starts January first, and then, hopefully I can get a little time to relax a bit. I have to admit that I'm pretty stressed out right now, working almost all the time, and I can fell that I need to unwind a bit. Luckily I have this weekend off, and that means that I have some time to spend on myself. I've planned a great weekend in Copenhagen, spending some time with my uncle and my some of my best friends that, I sorry to say, I have neglected for some time now. But this weekend will give me a chance to make up for that. And I'm looking forward to do just that. I do miss spend time with them. So I have three whole days in the big city, just doing some Christmas shopping and eating some good food, and possible get drunk Saturday night. I have a feeling that might happened.
Good weekend to all of you.

Still alive.....kinda

Been a while since I have had the time or energy to sit down and write a little here on my blog.

I had a great relaxing vacation. A whole week without doing anything at all, except form reading and enjoying the beach. Something I should do more often I think.

Right now I'm enjoying some time off work. I haven't had a single day off since I got back from vacation, so I'm really tired. I should be out taking some photos of the snow we got the last few days (not much, but it is there), and I should go shopping, but to tell you the truth I'm really not in the mood to do anything right now. Just want to cuddle up under my blanket and stare in to the television and watch some dumb sit-coms or even dumber reality shows. When did all this happened, why do I want to waste my time like that? Am I finally getting to old? I sure do feel old right now.

I even got a packet of books from Amazon the other day and I don't feel like reading!!??! And I were really in to start the new Bret Easton Ellis book Lunar Park but no, just not in the mood.

Well I just think I take some time off to relax, and crawl back under my blanket, get a little sleep and dream about better times.

Getting ready for vacation

Just starting packing for my week at the beach. Yes, I do know that I am in Denmark and it is late October, and I really do not expect to lay on the beach and working on my tan (in fact if I did, I think I would blend in with the sand, this is how white I am). I'm just looking forward to a week with walks on the beach in the cold (is it me or do that sound like a personal add?) relaxing in the heated indoor pool, hopefully some time to take some great photos (or the best I can do) and spending some time with my family.
And if we are lucky the weather will be like the weather we have had the most time of October. Clear blue sky, sunshine and warm air. But I do know my luck and I do expect that it will be raining all week. It started this Tuesday with a really dark and raining day. Just the day you would spend indoors with hot cocoa and Portishead on the stereo, a day I would love except I had to work (and my Portishead albums are somewhere in a big box with most of my CD's and if I should find them it would take all day, and then I wouldn't have time to enjoy the day anyway). I think I need to think a little ahead and find them now and keep them ready. Yes, some would argue that I could just use my MP3 player (no, I do not own an Ipod because when I bought mine, it were the only one with a 60 GB harddisk), but it is not the same as handling the CD's. I'm a bit old-fashioned that way, but hey I do like the CD's, and the MP3 player are just for traveling.
Well I better get started with the packing. It is only for a week, but I know that I JUST NEED to have all of my clothes with me. You never know what will happened, and it could be that a beautiful girl will invite me to a formal dinner (in my dreams), but you always have to be prepared for everything, right?
I will send some thoughts and experiences from the trip on my other blog. You can find it here and right when I get back there will be some pictures too.
Have a nice week.

Another weekend down the drain

Saturday night. I'm sitting in front of my computer, and have been here all day. I just thought that my website needed a new design. And I have just finished the danish version, so now I just need to update the english. But I do think I need some sleep first.
I'm getting to old. I should be out having fun, drinking, dancing and chatting up some nice girls (I don't know to chat up a girl). But instead I'm wasting my free time at home - alone. How sad can you be?
Well as you can see I haven't reached any of the goals I have set up for myself yet. I need to get a life. Right now I only sleep, eat and work.
And the only girls I meet are those there shop where i work, and there are some cute ones there too. But some of the time they have their husbands with them, and then it is REALLY hard to flirt with them.

He is cute though

The little new prince are cute. See the picture here.

Just call me a grumpy old man

First of all let me say that I do like our monarchy, and I have respect for our Royal family. I have the highest admiration for HRH The Crown Princess of Denmark Mary Elizabeth and HRH The Crown Prince of Denmark Frederik Andre Henrik Christian and I want to congratulate the two of them with the birth of their first son and I want to wish the three of them all the best.

And I don't mind the flags all over Denmark, the celebration all over the country with shots from canons and bonfires all over.

But when all that is said, I have to say that it makes me sick to see the two danish TV stations waste all the time they have done to day, with something they call news, when most of it is something they have fabricated themselves.

It is ok they tell us about the birth. It is ok that they show the press conference with the proud father, and let him tell about the experience. But when they start to interview all themidwives in Denmark about the birth, and none of them have attended the birth. When they send live from the front of the Royal Palace a 7 a.m., when there are absolutely nothing happening there. When they talk to parent advisers about the life the little new one are going to have, and the advisers know no more about the life in the Royal family that any other in Denmark. Then have they reached my limit. I agree that this is an important thing in Denmark, but there are election in Iraq today. People are suffering in Pakistani and people dying all over Africa, so please do tell me:

Is it necessary for the journalists to make up their own stories about nothing??

Day one

On the positive side, I haven't stopped smoking yet.

I have the day off and I have to say that I don't have that much energy, so I just think I'll spend the day relaxing and just finish the book I'm reading right now.

I know that I need to relax a little, last week my boss told me that he have got a new job, starting in 2 weeks.
